Admiral Braak's Passing

It is with much regret that the AQSG Community has learned of the passing of Admiral Braak. In the coming days, we will be presenting more details as well as a fitting tribute for one of our most valuable and legendary players.

We are in contact with his family, and they do wish to express their thanks. Again, more details will follow.

August Sim of the Month and other Awards News!

Greetings to all members of the AQSG!

Congratulations to Starbase T'Plana Hath on being awarded the Sim of the Month award for August 2009!

It has come to the attention of the AQSG Council that the AQSG has not passed out any other awards over the last few years. In fact, we have boasted an array of awards which our web team has carried over from site template to template that have literally been collecting dust for years. We have since decided to resume handing out these awards.

Effective September 2009, 4 awards will be distributed on a yearly basis and 10 awards on a monthly basis. All 14 of these awards can be found under the OOC Awards list on the AQSG website.

In order to be eligible for an award, a player must be nominated by his/her GM as long as that player meets the criteria listed on the AQSG website. The AQSG Council will determine the recipients of an award from the nominations and will reserve the right to not hand out an award in any category. For the Officer, Non-Commissioned Officer, Crewman, Marine, and Sim of the Month awards, a player can only receive that award once every six months. Other categories may yield multiple recipients.

There will also be opportunities to create new award categories. To discuss new categories, please voice your views on the AQSG Forums.

The deadline for all nominations will be the 26th of every month.

If you have any questions/concerns/comments/complaints about the AQSG Awards Program, please present it at the AQSG Forums or by Private Message to Fleet Captain Harvey Geisler on the Forums.

Happy Simming!

Fleet Captain Harvey Geisler
AQSG Chief Operations Officer

Important Notice

Due to the ever growing size of our Star Trek simulations, the AQSG Triad, along with the Trek CO & XO, have reorganized the former Star Trek Division. All Divisions are now called Genres to more accurately reflect the different types of games the AQSG offers.

The major changes lie within the Star Trek Genre. Games have been only slightly reorganized to reflect the following changes:
  • Groups of 2-3 games are now called "Divisions"
  • Groups of 4 or more receive a "Fleet" title
  • Sims not wishing to be a part of a Fleet or Division are placed under the "Independent Division"
As of now, only 3 games reside under the Independent Division banner: Starbase 297, Saratoga NX-07, and USS Damocles.

Starbase 297 is open!

The AQSG's newest game, Starbase 297 is open! Two players have joined the regular crew so far and several have begun to participate in the "Come-And-Go" section where any AQSG member can participate without having to commit to posting requirements. Drop by today and see what is going on at Starbase 297!
